Free Vintage Art for Etched Encaustics
Did you know there’s a huge library of free printable vintage art on the public domain? There is! A quick google search for “free vintage public domain art” will pull up dozens of lists and where to download them. For the encaustic project, I wasn’t as picky about printing as I usually am because I knew the details, color and sheen would be changed by the wax anyways. Walgreens pulled through for me this time. But if you want to display any of these as plain prints, I would suggest using a quality online printer— and even better, printing on canvas sheets!
For your encaustic project, you’ll need wax, pottery tools, and a strong glue. I’ve added them to this list for you.
